Lovestarrs are sister/ brother duo Sarah (vocals/ synths) and Hamish McIntosh (bass/ synths) hailing from Hampshire, UK. The duo have grown up on a feast of 80’s music from their parents vinyl collection including Prince, Lionel Richie, Wham and The Human League.
The dynamic pair have already released a few tracks online to great media attention, leading on to the release of their debut album ‘Planet Lovestarr’ on October 21st through pop label DEFDISCO, who also boast the likes of the Arctic Monkeys drummer and Public Enemy on their roster.
‘Planet Lovestarr’ was sbo recorded in Stockholm with Swedish whizz-kid producers Olle Blomstrom and Kristofer Ostergren, Tim Lundgren and Tobias Lundgren (Rascal Flatts) and in LA with Cameron Jaymes (Olivia Culpo).
In their own words, Lovestarrs describe the album: “Sonically, ‘Planet Lovestarr’ touches on all our favourite records from the 80’s, combining it with our love of modern pop music and hooks. We really want people to hear this album and to be able to sing songs back within a few times of hearing them. For us, that is the sign of a good pop album. Lyrically, ‘Planet Lovestarr’ is diverse. We didn’t want to just write about one topic. The album explores love, heartbreak, friendship, drinking, sex, places and dreams. We want to take people on a journey into our own little world.”
To support the album and future single releases, Lovestarrs have been touring this month throughout the UK, including a date at Birthdays in Dalston.
‘Planet Lovestarr’ will be released on DEFDISCO on 28th of October 2016.
