Well known by just about all north of the border, Jack Robertson has built a loyal fan base that’s rapidly growing. Listeners to Forth 1 will know him well for his support for charities such as Cash For Kids and the Kilt Walk.
By the age of just 12, Jack was performing at the Forth 1 Awards where he shared the stage with Jason Donavan, Sharleen Spiteri, James Blunt, Alisha Dixon and The Stereophonics. A year later Jack won Festival4Stars and was hand-picked by Robin Gibb to sing at the Bee Gees 50th Anniversary gig alongside Lulu, Bill Wyman and Beverly Knight.
Jack’s vocals and sound have drawn favourable comparisons with Sam Smith and his cover of Sam Smith’s ‘Writing on The Wall’ has received nearly 100k YouTube views hyperurl.co/yq5ma3, leading to an appearance on STV.
Jack’s profile within boy band, Rewind, was immense. However, when Jack was brought to the attention of music stalwarts, Julian Close and Ian Curnow of EC2M Music Management, his fortunes spiraled to cosmic heights. They instantly recognized Jack’s solo potential and put him in the studio with their newly assembled team of young East London based songwriters, operating under Ian Curnow’s guidance (East 17, Take That, Roxette, Boyzone, SClub – to name a few) – and the rest is history. Jack has already penned an album’s worth of material and his debut album is set for release later this year.
‘Set It Alight’ is released on Bright Star Records on July 22nd.
