EQ Music Blog launched in 2005 (originally as Electroqueer.com) as a pop and electronic new music blog featuring fresh, emerging artists. Written by American born, London living pop music enthusiast, and good friend of mine, Raj Rudolph, it is still going strong today.
In 2008, EQ Music Blog branched out into London’s music scene with a night dedicated to sharing the best live music. Based in London’s fashionable Shoreditch, EQ Music Live is a key fixture in the calendar for pop music fans and music industry talent-spotters alike who want and need to see new and exciting talent.
EQ Music Live has showcased some of the most exciting independent pop and electronica artists of the time, some of which have eventually gone onto big careers including Charli XCX, Christian Burns, Bright Light Bright Light and Dragonette.
Earlier this month, EQ Music Live welcomed three more exciting acts to grace the stage of Zigfrid von Underbelly in Hoxton and I was there to catch up with them all to chat to them all about their work.
Lostchild is the moniker of British singer/songwriter and producer Joe Copplestone. After writing and producing music on his own in his bedroom, one day Joe wrote a song called “Soothe” and put it up on the internet under the name Lostchild, and thousands of people listened and loved.
A year later Lostchild released his debut EP “Dancing With Boys”, remixed high profile artists Anastacia and Vanessa White under the Lostchild name, and began channelling all his troubles and confessions into his solo music.

Avec Sans are Alice Fox and Jack St James, from Manchester and Trinidad respectively, now living in London, UK.
Signed to U.S. label Beverly Martel, Avec Sans’ single releases have achieved national radio play and media acclaim and their debut album ‘Heartbreak Hi’ charted in the top 50 on iTunes.
Avec Sans supported Ladyhawke on her 2016 UK tour and have played alongside acts such as Little Boots, Capital Cities, Bright Light Bright Light and Pet Shop Boys. They have remixed artists for Sony (Epic) and Columbia Records, receiving praise for these from the likes of DJ Sasha. Their remix of Young Summer’s ‘Severing Ties’ was featured on Bravo TV and they’ve had original tracks featured on MTV Scream, MTV Suspect and Are You the One?

Betty Who is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician based in the US. She is best known for her 2016 single, “I Love You Always Forever”, a cover of a song by Donna Lewis, which peaked inside the top ten in Australia. Her second album, The Valley, was released on 24 March 2017.
